Plan a rent increase

Set a new rent and date, tell the tenant, and let it apply itself.

Plan a change

  1. Open the lease and select Plan a rent change.
  2. Enter the new rent and the date it starts.
  3. Select Plan this change.

Welodge writes the notice for you. On the change's page, select Email the tenant to send it, or I've told them another way if you've already given notice yourself. On the start date the new rent is applied by itself, and invoices raised in advance use the right rent for their period. Available on the Landlord plan and above.

Notice period

In Settings, Notice you give before a rent increase sets the number of days you normally give. If a planned change gives the tenant less notice, Welodge warns you.

Check the rules that apply to your tenancy. The required notice and the way a rent increase must be served depend on the type of tenancy and the law where the property is. Welodge keeps track and sends the notice, but it can't tell you what is valid for your tenancy.

Changing your mind

Open the planned change on the lease and select Cancel change before it has been applied. A cancelled change never takes effect. Once a change has been applied it is part of the lease's rent history, so to reverse it, plan a new change back to the old rent.
